12986/09; KOM(2009) 447 endg.

This proposal seeks to establish a coordinated European Union program for the resettlement of refugees. It aims to provide a more organized and fair way to offer protection to vulnerable people in need of international protection from countries outside the EU. The program would affect EU member states by creating a shared framework for relocating refugees, ensuring that the responsibility for resettlement is distributed more equitably across the Union.
