Amendment: Directive 2009/138/EC (Supervision & Sustainability Risks)
This procedure aims to update the existing framework for insurance and reinsurance supervision. It focuses on improving the quality of oversight, refining reporting requirements, and introducing tools to manage sustainability risks and long-term guarantees to ensure the financial stability of the insurance sector.
Insurance companies and supervisory authorities are primarily affected. The changes introduce more proportional reporting requirements and new macro-prudential tools to better manage systemic risks across borders.
