Stage enactedUpdated 11d ago

This law establishes mechanisms to resolve disputes between Portuguese authorities and those of other EU Member States regarding international tax treaties. It aims to ensure that income is not taxed twice across different borders by providing a clear process for interpreting and applying tax agreements. Tax authorities and taxpayers involved in cross-border income disputes will be affected. The law implements EU Directive 2017/1852 to harmonize how Member States handle disagreements over double taxation conventions.
