Wijziging van de Wet informatie-uitwisseling ondergrondse netten in verband met uitsluiting van huisaansluitingen
This Dutch bill amends the Wet informatie-uitwisseling ondergrondse netten (WION), the law that requires parties digging in public space to check with network operators before excavating. The WION system, run through the national KLIC register, is meant to prevent damage to underground cables and pipes and reduce accident risks. This amendment excludes household connections (huisaansluitingen) from the scope of the law. Based on the title only; the full text may contain further details. Contractors, excavation companies, municipalities, and network operators such as energy, water, and telecom providers would be affected. Work on private household connections would no longer need to follow the WION information-exchange procedure. Homeowners and installers may see simpler rules for these smaller works.
