Wijziging van de Warenwet in verband met de uitvoering van Verordening (EU) 2023/988 inzake algemene productveiligheid

Stage otherUpdated 6d ago

This Dutch legislative procedure amends the Netherlands' Warenwet (Consumer Goods Act) to put into effect EU Regulation 2023/988 on general product safety. The EU regulation sets rules to ensure that non-food consumer products sold in the Union are safe, including products bought online, and it strengthens market surveillance and recall obligations. The Dutch amendment adapts national law so that the EU rules can be enforced domestically. The change mainly affects manufacturers, importers, distributors and online marketplaces selling consumer products in the Netherlands, as well as the national authorities responsible for product safety enforcement. Consumers would benefit from clearer safety requirements and faster product recalls. Based on metadata only; the full bill text may contain further details.
