Wijziging van de Geneesmiddelenwet ter implementatie van richtlijn 2011/62/EU om te verhinderen dat vervalste geneesmiddelen in de legale distributieketen belanden

Stage otherUpdated 6d ago

This Dutch legislative procedure amends the Medicines Act (Geneesmiddelenwet) to implement EU Directive 2011/62/EU, which aims to stop falsified medicines from entering the legal supply chain. The directive introduced measures such as authentication features on medicine packaging, verification of medicines before dispensing, and stronger controls on active ingredients and wholesalers. The changes mainly affect pharmaceutical manufacturers, wholesalers, pharmacies and other distributors operating in the Netherlands, as well as patients who obtain medicines through the regular supply chain. Based on the title alone, the bill is expected to add new obligations for these actors to verify and trace medicines.
