Wijziging van de Gaswet en van de Mijnbouwwet betreffende het minimaliseren van de gaswinning uit het Groningenveld
This Dutch bill amends the Gas Act (Gaswet) and the Mining Act (Mijnbouwwet) to minimise natural gas extraction from the Groningen gas field. The Groningen field is the largest in the Netherlands, and its production has caused earthquakes and damage to buildings in the north of the country. The bill aims to reduce extraction further, with the goal of ending it as far as possible. The main people affected are residents of the Groningen province whose homes have suffered earthquake damage, as well as gas consumers and energy companies operating in the Netherlands. Changes to extraction rules may also affect gas supply planning and the government's energy transition timetable.
