Jaarverslag en slotwet Ministerie van Verkeer en Waterstaat 2009
This Dutch parliamentary procedure concerns the 2009 annual report (jaarverslag) and closing budget act (slotwet) of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment's predecessor, the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management (Verkeer en Waterstaat). It is the formal stage where parliament reviews how the ministry actually spent its approved budget in that year, compared with what was planned. Such reviews allow the House of Representatives to check spending and hold the government to account. The procedure mainly affects the national government and parliament, since it examines public spending on transport, roads, rail, waterways and water management. Citizens and businesses that rely on these infrastructure policies are indirectly affected by the findings and any follow-up decisions.
