Jaarverslag en slotwet Ministerie van Veiligheid en Justitie 2017
This is a Dutch parliamentary procedure concerning the 2017 annual report (jaarverslag) and the closing budget act (slotwet) of the Ministry of Security and Justice. The annual report shows how the ministry actually spent its appropriated funds and what it achieved, while the slotwet formally confirms the final state budget for that year. Together they allow parliament to check whether money was spent as approved. The procedure mainly concerns the Dutch government, the Ministry of Security and Justice, and the Tweede Kamer, which scrutinises public spending. Its outcome affects how public funds for policing, the judiciary, prisons, migration and national security are accounted for, but it does not by itself create new policies or spending.
