Jaarverslag en slotwet Ministerie van Defensie 2012
This is a Dutch parliamentary procedure on the 2012 annual report (jaarverslag) and closing budget act (slotwet) of the Ministry of Defence. The closing act formally confirms how the ministry's actual spending for the year compared with the budget the parliament had approved, and the annual report explains what the ministry did and how it used its funds. Together they form the final accountability step for that year's defence budget. The main direct stakeholders are the Dutch Ministry of Defence, the Tweede Kamer (House of Representatives) which scrutinises and approves the accounts, and ultimately Dutch taxpayers. The procedure does not itself change defence policy, but it shows whether funds were spent as authorised.
