This order establishes requirements for the use of the Automatic Identification System (AIS) on fishing vessels. The goal is to improve maritime safety and monitoring by ensuring vessels can be tracked more effectively. Fishing vessel owners in Lithuania with ships 15 meters or longer must equip their vessels with AIS technology to comply with these safety and identification standards.
