S.I. 274 of 2009 European Communities (Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading) (Aviation) Regulations 2009

These regulations implement EU law into Irish national law concerning the trading of greenhouse gas emissions for aviation activities. This aims to reduce the carbon footprint of the aviation sector within the European Union. Aviation operators flying to, from, or within Ireland will be subject to emissions monitoring, reporting, and verification requirements, and must surrender allowances to cover their emissions.
