Deputy Matt Carthy asked the Minister for Transport if Transport Infrastructure Ireland has completed its consideration of the alternative flood-resilient construction options submitted by Monaghan County Council for the Smithborough to Clones section of the Ulster Canal Greenway, following confirmation that approximately 4.1 kilometres of the preferred route is at risk of flooding; which option is proposed to be progressed; the additional cost arising from the requirement for flood-resilient construction; whether additional funding will be provided; when a decision will issue; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
