EU-Batterienverordnung Begleitgesetz – BattBegG
This is an Austrian government bill (Regierungsvorlage) in the National Council that introduces national rules to accompany the EU Batteries Regulation. The EU regulation sets requirements across the whole battery lifecycle, including design, labelling, collection, recycling and reporting. Member states must establish their own enforcement, responsibilities and penalties, which this national law provides. Based on metadata only; the full text was not reviewed. Battery producers, importers, distributors, waste collectors and recyclers operating in Austria are likely to be affected by the national implementation rules. Consumers may see changes in how batteries are labelled and returned for recycling. Authorities responsible for environmental oversight would also gain defined enforcement duties.
