Bundesgesetz, mit dem das allgemeine bürgerliche Gesetzbuch, das Konsumentenschutzgesetz und das Verbraucherbehörden-Kooperationsgesetz geändert werden und ein Bundesgesetz über Fernabsatz- und außerhalb von Geschäftsräumen geschlossene Verträge (Fern- und Auswärtsgeschäfte-Gesetz – FAGG) erlassen wird (Verbraucherrechte-Richtlinie-Umsetzungsgesetz – VRUG)

This law implements the EU Consumer Rights Directive, updating Austrian consumer protection rules. It aims to harmonize consumer rights across the EU for distance and off-premises contracts, ensuring clearer information and stronger protections for consumers when buying goods and services online or outside traditional business premises. The act amends the General Civil Code, the Consumer Protection Act, and the Consumer Authority Cooperation Act. It introduces the new Distance and Off-Premises Contracts Act (FAGG), affecting consumers and businesses engaged in remote sales and contracts signed away from a shop.
