Mission & Goals
The University of Belgrade is a state university. Its main activities in the fields of higher education and scientific research are of public interest, and they are carried out following legal regulations. Faculties (31), institutes (11), and the University Library are members of the University of Belgrade. Given the complexity of the areas studied and taught at the University, the faculties are classified according to scientific fields into four groups: Social Sciences and Humanities, Medical Sciences, Sciences and Mathematics, Technology and Engineering Sciences. Faculties organize and carry out study programs following their parentage, which results from the accredited study program of the faculty and based on the decision of the Senate. Institutes carry out scientific research activities and develop cooperation with faculties and the private sector.
