Mission & Goals
Rani (which stands for Resilience Action Network International) was first established as Pandemic Action Network (PAN) in response to the COVID-19 crisis in April 2020. The new brand rani launched in November 2025. We coordinate advocacy to build societal resilience to shifts, change, and crisis. Our network of partners – from civil society to governments and the private sector – works together on policy, advocacy, funding mechanisms, and coordinated action across health and pandemics, biosecurity and defence, finance, and climate.
EU Legislative Interests
- Multiannual financial framework 2028-2034 and annual budget cycles - Biosecurity policies including the Biotech Act (e.g. emerging biotechnologies) - EU preparedness strategy - Resilience, including the Global Health Resilience Initiative - Global health security - Security and defence - All EU efforts in the domain of the COVID-19 response and pandemic preparedness and prevention - Multilateral relationships - Relevant European Councils, Council of Ministers meetings, European Parliament meetings and related international meetings
Communication Activities
Rani launched as Pandemic Action Network on April 22, 2020. Since then, we have been working with partners and stakeholders in our Network to raise awareness on the need for pandemic prevention, preparedness and response policies and related areas to build the resilience of people, communities, and countries to existing and future threats. On November 19 2025, PAN rebranded as rani (Resilience Action Network International), a global advocacy network working to build societal resilience to withstand shifts, change, and crises.
