Mission & Goals
De NVRD vertegenwoordigt Nederlandse publieke organisaties en gemeenten actief in afvalbeheer, grondstoffeninzameling, straatreiniging en beheer van de openbare ruimte. De vereniging bevordert professionalisering, kennisdeling en innovatie en behartigt de belangen van haar leden. De NVRD volgt Europese regelgeving op het gebied van circulaire economie, afval, verpakkingen, EPR, aanbestedingen en milieu, en levert input vanuit het perspectief van publieke uitvoerbaarheid, betaalbaarheid en duurzaamheid.
EU Legislative Interests
Main policy areas include circular economy legislation, Waste Framework Directive, EPR schemes, packaging legislation (PPWR), public procurement rules, ecodesign and digital product passports, textiles, batteries and WEEE, climate and fiscal measures affecting waste management, and protection of essential public waste infrastructure.
