Mission & Goals
A registered member of the Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation since 1959 - the most representative national employer organization, politically independent, with a mission to promote and support the benefits of Cypriot businesses in Cyprus, in the European Union (EU) and internationally - SEMHO (Cyprus Motor and Electric Vehicle Importers Association) is composed of the great majority of the official importers and distributors of motor and electric vehicles in Cyprus appointed contractually by the vehicle manufacturers. One of the purposes of SEMHO is to propose and promote improvement of legislation affecting the vehicle market, to provide support or objections to any modification thereof, to make improvements to the basic principles and implementation of legislation and to submit reports/applications to the Government or other competent bodies.

Regulation (EU) 2018/858 of the European Parliament and of the Council for the approval and surveillance of the motor vehicles market and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles
Communication Activities
Filed an official complaint against the Cyprus Authorities and Cyprus Government in July 2024 regarding the implementation and unfair practices followed by the Cypriot national regulations, in violation of Regulation 2018/858, with negative consequences not only on the spirit and purpose of the European Regulation but also on fair competition, environmental protection, and the safety of citizens.
