Mission & Goals
The Autonomous Vehicle Industry Association (“AVIA”) is a non-governmental organization (“NGO”), established with the purpose to advocate for the safe and timely deployment of autonomous driving technology. We are the unified voice of the diverse companies working toward a world where safe and trusted AVs increase road safety, boost supply chains and improve mobility opportunities for all. The Association is comprised of companies with technical expertise and experience in the technology, automobile, and transportation network sectors. Bringing together their varied backgrounds, the companies formed the Self-Driving Coalition in 2016, which in 2022 was rebranded as the Autonomous Vehicle Industry Association. Through this time, we have worked closely with lawmakers, regulators, and the public to realize the safety and societal benefits of fully autonomous vehicles.
