Mission & Goals
ANIS is the Romanian Employers' Association of the IT&C industry, having supported the sector's interests for over 25 years. ANIS brings together more than 140 companies from the IT&C sector, covering a wide range of specializations and technologies. We aim to create a close cooperation between companies, authorities and academia in order to develop the potential of the Romanian tech industry and to promote technology adoption and digital transformation. Collectively, our members account for approximately 23% of the total revenues generated by the national IT industry and represent around 30% of the total workforce employed in Romania’s IT sector.
EU Legislative Interests
ANIS engages with a broad range of EU legislative initiatives and policy frameworks shaping the digital economy and the ICT sector. Key areas of focus include the implementation and refinement of the EU’s digital regulatory framework, such as the Artificial Intelligence Act, the eIDAS regulation or cybersecurity-related legislation such as the NIS2 Directive and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). The association actively contributes to policy discussions, both at national level and at the European level through its participation in the DIGITALEUROPE network, to ensure a balanced regulatory environment that supports innovation, reduces administrative burden, and enables the growth of a competitive and resilient tech ecosystem.
Communication Activities
ANIS carries out a wide range of communication and outreach activities aimed at informing stakeholders and contributing to public dialogue on EU digital policies. These include the organization of events (ex. ANIS International Summit) featuring participation from industry leaders, policymakers, and European institutions’ representatives, addressing topics such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital transformation and innovation. The association also publishes position papers, policy recommendations, and reports and disseminates relevant insights through its newsletters, social media channels, and dedicated events. Through these activities, including its flagship initiatives and its engagement within the DIGITALEUROPE network, ANIS supports awareness, knowledge-sharing, and constructive dialogue on the implementation and impact of EU digital legislation.
