Mission & Goals
I am a Doctoral Researcher at the LSTS research group of the Law and Criminology Faculty of VUB and former FARI Scholar. My academic background is mainly based on International and European Human Rights Law, as she holds an LL.M. from The Gender, Law & Technology Sessions are organised by the Law, Science, Technology and Society (LSTS) research group at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Launched in September 2023, the sessions reflect LSTS's continued commitment to critical engagement with the intersections of gender, law and emerging technologies. Adopting an interdisciplinary approach, this initiative provides a dedicated space for researchers from diverse academic backgrounds to meet monthly, exchange perspectives, and critically reflecting on selected readings.
EU Legislative Interests
Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (AI Act) and Directive (EU) 2024/1385
Communication Activities
Drawing on my close engagement with impacted communities and civil society organisations, including my previous role as a co-founder of a civil society organisation (DATAWO in Greece), I was invited by a MEP to speak at a closed event on Directive 1385/2024 on violence against women and domestic violence. My intervention was on how AI facilitates forms of gender-based violence, in which ways and how we could take preventive measures. In recognition of my research contributions, mainly my latest publications on Gender Privacy Impact Assessment and my work on sexualised deepfakes, I was also invited by the AI Safety Unit/Team of the AI Office to share my expertise on systemic risk assessment and safety.
