Mission & Goals
Aerowaves is a pan-European dance platform. Its founding principle is to enable emerging dance artists resident in Europe to be exposed internationally and to present their work beyond their own borders, thus accelerating their professional development. Aerowaves discovers early career dance artists, writers, podcasters, curators and presenters and elevates them to the European scale through cross-border presentation and capacity building programmes. That is what it has done as a network for 27 years. This project empowers 80 emerging choreographers with performances across the continent; 40 young curators and presenters, with 12 granted new production opportunities; 60 young critical thinkers trained to reflect and write on wider issues surrounding the making of dance, with many continuing to contribute to Aerowaves' now established Springback Magazine, or creating audio and visual content to connect with new and diverse audiences.
