Protection of EU and Member States from third-country economic coercion
This procedure aims to establish a new EU instrument to counter economic coercion by third countries. It seeks to deter and respond to undue pressure that could harm the Union or its Member States' economic interests and sovereignty.
The new rules will empower the EU to take countermeasures, protecting businesses and citizens from discriminatory or unfair trade practices imposed by external actors.
