Derogation from Directive 2002/58/EC: Combatting child sexual abuse online
This procedure proposes a temporary exception to data protection rules for communication services. The goal is to allow these services to use specific technologies to detect and report child sexual abuse material online, helping to protect children.
Providers of number-independent interpersonal communications services will be affected. This measure aims to enhance child protection by enabling better tools to combat online abuse.
