Amendment: Access to EU info systems for VIS purposes
This proposal aims to improve the security of the Schengen area by allowing border guards to access more EU information systems when checking visas. It seeks to enhance the effectiveness of border controls and prevent illegal immigration.
The changes will affect border guards and visa applicants. It will enable more thorough checks at external borders, potentially leading to faster processing for legitimate travellers and better identification of risks.
