This procedure concerns an agreement between the EU and Georgia to protect geographical indications (GIs) for agricultural products and foodstuffs. GIs identify products originating from specific regions with unique qualities linked to their origin.

This agreement aims to enhance trade and consumer trust by ensuring the authenticity of Georgian and EU products. It will benefit producers and consumers by preventing misuse of GI names and promoting high-quality regional specialties.
