This procedure examines whether Bolivia is complying with the Minimum Age Convention as a condition for maintaining its GSP+ status. The GSP+ scheme allows developing countries to export goods to the EU with lower or zero tariffs if they commit to implementing international conventions on human and labor rights.

This affects Bolivian exporters and the EU trade market. If Bolivia is found to be in breach of child labor standards, it could face a temporary withdrawal of its preferential trade tariffs.
