Forest Law Enforcement Governance and Trade in timber products to the European Union

This procedure concerns the termination of a Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA) between the EU and Liberia. The VPA aimed to ensure legal timber exports from Liberia to the EU and promote sustainable forest management. Its termination will end this cooperation framework.

This affects timber trade between the EU and Liberia. Liberia will no longer be required to issue FLEGT licenses for timber exports to the EU, and the EU will no longer be obligated to accept them under this agreement.
