Extension of Directive 2003/109/EC to international protection beneficiaries
This procedure aims to extend the rights and protections of long-term residents to individuals granted international protection. It seeks to harmonize rules across the EU, promoting better integration and equal treatment for refugees.
Beneficiaries of international protection will gain access to employment, education, and social benefits similar to other long-term residents. This aims to facilitate their inclusion into society and reduce administrative burdens.
