Amendment: CO₂ emission standards for new heavy-duty vehicles
This procedure updates the rules for carbon dioxide (CO2) emission limits for new heavy-duty vehicles, such as trucks and buses. It aims to accelerate the transition to zero-emission transport to help the EU reach its climate neutrality goals and reduce air pollution.
Vehicle manufacturers will face tougher emission targets and new reporting requirements. This will drive the development and adoption of electric and hydrogen-powered heavy vehicles across the transport sector.
