Amendment: Digitalisation of visa procedure (Reg 1683/95)
This procedure aims to modernise the visa application process by replacing paper-based systems with a digital platform. By moving to an electronic system, the EU intends to streamline how visas are requested and processed, reducing bureaucracy and improving security at external borders.
This change will primarily affect non-EU citizens applying for a Schengen visa. It simplifies the application journey for travellers and reduces the administrative workload for consular staff and border authorities.
