This procedure updates existing EU rules on protecting workers from hazardous substances. It aims to lower the maximum allowed levels of exposure to lead and its inorganic compounds, and to diisocyanates in the workplace, ensuring better health and safety.

Workers in industries using lead or diisocyanates, such as construction, manufacturing, and battery production, will benefit from these stricter limits. This aims to reduce the risk of long-term health issues associated with these chemicals.
