GI protection for craft and industrial products (Amendment)
This procedure establishes a new EU-wide system to protect craft and industrial products that are linked to a specific geographical origin. By recognizing the unique quality and reputation of these regional goods, the EU aims to prevent imitation and ensure that producers can protect their traditional knowledge and regional identity.
This will primarily benefit small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and traditional artisans. It simplifies the process for producers to register and protect their regional brands across the entire European Union.
