Amendment to Regulation No 525/2013 on a mechanism for monitoring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions and other information relevant to climate change
This procedure sets binding annual greenhouse gas emission reduction targets for EU Member States between 2021 and 2030. It aims to ensure the Energy Union is resilient and to meet international climate commitments under the Paris Agreement.
It affects all Member States by requiring them to reduce emissions. The regulation also updates monitoring and reporting mechanisms for greenhouse gas emissions and other climate-related information.
