Amendment to Regulation (EU) 2018/1726 on a collaboration platform to support the functioning of Joint Investigation Teams and amending Regulation (EU) 2018/1726
This procedure aims to create a dedicated digital collaboration platform to support Joint Investigation Teams (JITs). By improving the way law enforcement agencies from different EU member states share information and coordinate efforts, the platform seeks to make cross-border investigations into serious and organized crime more efficient and secure.
The change primarily affects police and judicial authorities across the EU. It updates existing rules on the Europol information system to better facilitate the exchange of operational data during joint criminal investigations.
