Moderation Guidelines

All promises submitted to GovLens are subject to the following moderation standards before they appear on the tracker.

Direct quotes only

Promises must be verbatim quotes from official party manifestos, campaign platforms, or recorded candidate statements. Paraphrasing or summarisation is not accepted.

Source verification required

Every submission must include a working URL to the original source document. Moderators verify the quote against the source before approval.

No subjective assessment

GovLens does not label promises as kept, broken, or in progress. The tracker presents the original promise alongside relevant parliamentary votes and legislative outcomes, allowing users to draw their own conclusions.

Dispute resolution

Candidates, parties, and their official representatives may dispute any listed promise by contacting disputes@govlens.eu with evidence. Disputed promises are flagged and reviewed within 5 working days.
