Mission & Goals

ZYTEC develops and supplies non-contact drive systems for rotating equipment across a wide range of sectors, including heavy industry, steel, chemicals, petrochemicals, paper and pulp, food and beverages, maritime, and mining. The Non-Contact Drive (NCD) technology is applied in pumps, fans, generators, compressors, conveyors, and other critical equipment. Through the ZYTEC Academy, the company provides training and certification to partners, ensuring the effective deployment and long-term success of its technology. ZYTEC’s strategic objective is to establish itself as a global authority and knowledge leader in non-contact drive solutions for rotating equipment. Its mission is to deliver sustainable, long-lifespan, and low-maintenance solutions that enhance reliability, reduce environmental impact, and enable the lowest possible Total Cost of Ownership for its customers.

EU Legislative Interests

Ecodesign directive and the related Energy Labelling Directive, which mandate minimum energy efficiency requirements and require the use of labels to inform consumers. The Ecodesign Regulation (EU) 547/2012 sets specific standards, such as the Minimum Efficiency Index (MEI) for rotodynamic water pumps and the Energy Efficiency Index (EEI) for glandless circulators, to phase out inefficient models. These regulations ensure that new pumps placed on the EU market meet energy performance criteria, while the EPREL database provides public access to energy performance information. Ecodesign Directive and the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED), mandating minimum energy efficiency requirements for motors, variable speed drives (VSDs), and integrated motor-drive systems. Regulation (EU) 2019/1781, which replaced the previous 2009/2016 regulations, sets efficiency classes (e.g., IE3, IE4) for motors and requires specific minimum efficiency levels, and also addresses integrated motor and VSDs and replacement motors. Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1781 laying down Ecodesign requirements for electric motors and variable speed drives (VSDs).
