Mission & Goals
Self-government organisation of banks, established in 1991, founded on the basis of the Polish Chambers of Commerce Act. Membership in the ZBP is voluntary and open for all banks established under the Polish law as well as for credit institutions branches and foreign banks branches operating in Poland. The statutory tasks of the Association include: - Representing interests of member banks, inter alia with respect to legal regulations related to banking - Delegating representatives to participate in the work of banking operations advisory and evaluating bodies - Participating in legislative work of legislatory commissions of the Sejm (the Parliament lower chamber) and the Senate - Cooperating with the National Bank of Poland, the government and the competent ministries in the area of operation of legal regulations applicable to the Polish banking system - Organising the exchange of information between banks - Promoting of the banking sector and financial services
EU Legislative Interests
The Polish Bank Association activity focuses on several current priorities of the European Commission like the Investment Plan or Capital Market Union and in continuation of work in following projects: CRR/CRD, SSM, PSR/PSD3, MiFIR/MiFID II, CCD2, CMDI, RIS, FIDA. but also in emerging main topics such as Sustainable Finance, development of digital market and cyber security. Moreover, we are interested in legislative processes related to retail financial services.
Communication Activities
Consultations among Members (Banks) on the Investment Plan, SIU and well known legislative proposals like CRR/CRD, SSM, PSR/PSD3, MiFIR/MiFID II, CCD2, CMDI, RIS, FIDA. The ZBP organises conferences and meetings devoted to these subjects. There is also a special unit within the Association - The National Contact Point for Financial Instruments of the EU Programmes for external partners.

Additional Information
A subvention from The Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (ca PLN 1.000.000) is dedicated to the National Contact Point for Financial Instruments of the EU Programs for the sole purpose of EU instruments promotion for entrepreneurs in financial and non-financial sectors - not for the Association's tasks. Ca. one fifth of the ZBP income comes from the members fees. The other part is from the economic activities related to the implementation of statutory aims.
