Mission & Goals
AI regulations
EU Legislative Interests
The specific EU policies and legislative proposals I aim to contribute to are: - Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (AI Act), specifically Article 50 concerning transparency obligations for providers and deployers of certain AI systems - Consultation on Article 50 AI Act Implementation (EC survey: ConsultationArt50AIATransparency) - Code of Practice for General-Purpose AI Models under the AI Act framework - Future consultations on AI Act delegated acts and implementation guidelines, where my practical experience would be relevant
Communication Activities
My communication activities are limited to: - Direct participation in public consultations through official EC surveys and consultation platforms - Providing written technical input based on hands-on experience implementing AI solutions in SME contexts - Sharing practical insights about challenges and opportunities in AI deployment from a practitioner perspective - No organized campaigns, events, or publications - my contribution is limited to individual expert input when relevant consultations are open This is not professional lobbying but rather civic engagement as a practitioner concerned about practical, implementable regulations that consider SME perspectives alongside Big Tech voices.

Additional Information
- This is pro bono activity. I do not charge for time spent on public consultations - As a sole proprietorship (JDG), I have no dedicated staff for policy engagement - I work from my existing home office setup - no additional infrastructure costs - Participation is entirely digital through online consultations - no travel expenses - No external consultancy fees, campaign costs, or event organization - No membership fees related to influence activities - Time investment is voluntary and unpaid, estimated at 30-40 hours annually The minimal budget (essentially covering only marginal costs like internet connection proportion) accurately reflects that this is a voluntary expert contribution, not professional lobbying. I finance this minimal activity as part of my civic responsibility as an AI practitioner who believes diverse voices, especially from SMEs and independent experts, should contribute to shaping AI regulation.
