Mission & Goals
The WYCJ is a global campaign to take climate change and human rights to the International Court of Justice to seek an advisory opinion. After having secured the historic ruling WYCJ is actively involved in the operationalization and implementation of the Advisory Opinion. Through this, WYCJ seeks to clarify the obligations of states to protect the rights of current and future generations from the adverse effects of climate change.
EU Legislative Interests
Endorsement of the ICJ Advisory Opinion by the European Commission and EU member states. Implementation of policies, laws and initiatives facilitating the protection of a healthy climate and environment.
Communication Activities
Bi-lateral meetings and hosting of events at EU institutions with MEP's.
