Mission & Goals
GOALS AND STRATEGIES The main goal of the World Capoeira Federation (WCF) is to promote sport Capoeira worldwide and achieve its inclusion in the Olympic Games. WCF unites capoeira practitioners globally under one structure and establishes official sport standards for the discipline. The Federation fosters cooperation with national federations, groups, and schools, encouraging broad participation in competitions. It collaborates with international sport organizations, including the International Olympic Committee, to advance Capoeira’s development. WCF works to popularize Capoeira, train qualified athletes, coaches, referees, and masters, and strictly follows the Olympic Charter, international conventions, and the World Anti-Doping Code. The Federation also protects the rights and interests of all Capoeira professionals.
EU Legislative Interests
The World Capoeira Federation (WCF) follows and engages with European Union policies related to sport, youth, education, culture, health, and international cooperation. In particular, WCF is interested in initiatives under the EU Work Plan for Sport, Erasmus+ Sport actions, and policies promoting grassroots sport development, inclusion, integrity, and good governance in sport. WCF monitors EU initiatives concerning dual careers of athletes, safeguarding in sport, gender equality, social inclusion through sport, and the promotion of physical activity and healthy lifestyles. The Federation also supports EU measures related to anti-doping policy, in alignment with the World Anti-Doping Code, and follows developments linked to sport integrity, transparency, and ethical governance standards. Additionally, WCF takes interest in EU external relations and cultural diplomacy policies where sport serves as a tool for intercultural dialogue and international cooperation.
Communication Activities
The World Capoeira Federation (WCF) conducts various communication and outreach activities aligned with EU sport, youth, and education policies. These include international championships, seminars, referee and coach education programs, and sport development forums promoting inclusion, integrity, and good governance in sport. WCF organizes conferences and workshops addressing topics such as anti-doping awareness, safeguarding in sport, gender equality, and youth engagement through physical activity. These events contribute to the broader objectives of the EU Work Plan for Sport and Erasmus+ Sport priorities. The Federation disseminates information through official publications, press releases, digital platforms, and social media channels to promote transparency, ethical standards, and international cooperation in sport. WCF also engages with national federations and partner organizations to support grassroots sport initiatives and intercultural dialogue, strengthening sport as a tool for social cohesion and international collaboration.
