Mission & Goals
WilmerHale is a leading international law firm with over 1,100 lawyers across 12 offices in the United States and Europe. We work at the intersection of government, technology, and business, providing world-class legal services to clients in sectors ranging from finance and life sciences to emerging technologies. Our lawyers have deep experience in EU law and a strong understanding of European institutions and regulatory frameworks. The focus of our work lies primarily in legal advice that falls outside the scope of the EU Transparency Register—such as representation in legal or administrative proceedings, guidance on regulatory compliance, and analysis of legislative developments. However, WilmerHale also supports clients in navigating the EU’s political and policy landscape, including through strategic counsel, advocacy planning, and engagement with institutional stakeholders.
EU Legislative Interests
Our activities fall within the scope of the Renewable Energy Directive, which provides the legal framework for the development of renewable energy across all sectors of the EU economy. The Directive sets out common principles and rules to remove barriers, encourage investment, and reduce the costs of renewable energy technologies. It also empowers citizens, consumers, and businesses to actively participate in the clean energy transition
