Mission & Goals
Wikirate International e.V. is the non-profit organization hosting the Wikirate platform: https://wikirate.org/ We develop the data system and tools the Wikirate community needs, and support them in using the technology to help achieve their goals. Our purpose is to empower and engage people and organizations from around the world to collect and develop insights on companies under a free license, and to share this knowledge globally and indiscriminately.
EU Legislative Interests
Wikirate International focuses its advocacy efforts on a range of specific EU legislative proposals and policies related to corporate disclosures and ensuring the resulting data is FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable). The main EU policies and proposals targeted include: - EU Taxonomy - Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive - Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive - European Single Access Point - Open Data Directive - EU AI Act
Communication Activities
Wikirate International conducts targeted communication activities to engage EU institutions and stakeholders on the above legislations and policies. These include: - Stakeholder meetings and dialogues: Wikirate International organizes bilateral meetings with European Commission officials, Members of the European Parliament and their staff, and representatives from EU agencies to provide input on relevant policy files. - Participation in EU advisory bodies: A Wikirate staff member participates in the EFRAG’s Expert Working Group 11 (Format) and the ESRS Digital Reporting Consultative Forum, to help define the technical standard for disclosing data under the CSRD. - Consultations and public feedback: Wikirate International participates in public consultations and submits feedback on EU policy proposals, such as the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), advocating for removal of ambiguity in disclosure requirements and increased standardization of the disclosure format. - Partnership collaborations: Wikirate International works with civil society organizations and industry networks to align efforts, amplify messages, and promote collaboration on shared goals, such as implementing a methodologically rigorous European Sustainability Reporting Standard that will result in reliable data that can improve decision making. - Publications: Wikirate International shares reports and blogs on our website and social media channels, covering research findings such as disclosure trends resulting from active legislation as well as layman summaries and insights on developing policies and legislations. Through these activities, Wikirate International seeks to foster a proactive dialogue with EU institutions and decision-makers, ensuring that accessible corporate reporting remains integral to European policy and action plans.
