WESFIN LTD provides expertise in financial structuring, project design, and investment management, supporting initiatives that contribute to the European Green Deal, the Farm to Fork Strategy, and the EU’s sustainable development objectives. EU Legislative Interests
WESFIN LTD is planning to engage in EU-level discussions related to sustainable aquaculture development, especially in the context of the European Green Deal and the EU’s food and biodiversity strategies. In particular, we are interested in the following policy areas: - COM(2021) 236 final – Strategic guidelines for a more sustainable and competitive EU aquaculture - COM(2020) 381 final – EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030, with relevance to sustainable use of aquatic ecosystems - COM(2020) 381 final – Farm to Fork Strategy, in relation to sustainable food production and protein diversification Our planned involvement may include participation in public consultations and providing input on practical aspects of freshwater aquaculture, especially in relation to catfish farming, environmental sustainability, and rural development.
Communication Activities
WESFIN LTD is currently preparing to engage in communication activities related to EU aquaculture and food system policies. These may include submitting input to public consultations, developing policy briefs on sustainable catfish farming, and contributing to discussions on how EU aquaculture guidelines can be applied or adapted in neighbouring regions. The aim is to support evidence-based policy development and share insights from pilot projects and planned production initiatives.
