Mission & Goals
The Wellcome Trust is a global foundation dedicated to improving health. We provide around €1.8 billion a year to support research in science and the humanities, as well as education, public engagement and the translation of research into health benefits. Our investment portfolio of over €40 billion allows us to improve human health through research into climate and health, mental health and infection as well as discovery research. Our advocacy work seeks to ensure that the policy and regulatory environment in Europe promotes research and its benefits, while maintaining public confidence. We are independent of both political and commercial interests.
