Mission & Goals
WASDI (Web Advanced Space Developer Interface) is a high-performance cloud computing platform designed to democratize Earth Observation (EO). It functions as a "Platform as a Service" (PaaS), or an "operating system for the cloud," that bridges the critical gap between local algorithm development and a scalable, operational cloud environment.Developed as a joint venture between FadeOut Software (an Italian software firm) and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), WASDI empowers EO experts, developers, and researchers to deploy, run, and share their applications without needing to be experts in cloud infrastructure or IT management. It also provides a "Space Market" where non-technical users can access these powerful applications as ready-to-use services.WASDI's core value is enabling users to "concentrate on work that matters." It specifically addresses the fragmentation and IT hurdles in the EO sector, such as heterogeneous data APIs and complex cloud configuration

Communication Activities
WASDI has had very limited interaction with EU institutions to date. Engagement has primarily involved attending publicly available information sessions, technical briefings, and open stakeholder events, such as the High-Level Study Tour on Disaster Risk Management, to ensure our Earth Observation and data economy solutions align with EU standards. These interactions have been general and technical.
