Mission & Goals
Representation of interests of IT users vis-à-vis German and European political decision-makers; promotion of data protection and information security as well as communication and information technology.
EU Legislative Interests
Proposals and commentary on regulatory issues, especially in the digital economy, e.g. digital decade, digital single market, digital future, information-/cybersecurity, competition policy and regulations in relation to digital products and services (DMA, DSA, cloud initiatives, NIS, Data Act, AI Act, NIS, CRA, Product Liability Directive, AI Liability Directive, Mobility Data Space, Open Finance, Right to Repair) and digital skills.
Communication Activities
Participating in creating/focussing Europe's digital policy agendas and legislative instruments and informing our members about them. Addressing (mal)functioning of competition framework after sale has been done in software market (vendor lock-in related practices). Providing input on proposed policies and regulations. Most recent activities together with CIO-associations in other Member Countries.
