Mission & Goals
The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC) is an educational, research, and human rights nonprofit organization devoted to education, advocacy, and research into human rights violations perpetrated by communist regimes around the world. VOC’s mission is to educate future generations about the ideology, history, and legacy of communism and to advocate for the freedom of those still held captive by communist regimes.
EU Legislative Interests
- REGULATION (EU) 2024/3015 on prohibiting products made with forced labour on the Union market ("FLR") - Directive (EU) 2024/1760 on corporate sustainability due diligence ("CSDDD") - Directive (EU) 2022/2464 on corporate sustainability reporting ("CSRD") - Council Decision (CFSP) 2020/1999 concerning restrictive measures against serious human rights violations and abuses
Communication Activities
The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation conducts communication activities to support the implementation and strengthening of EU policies on forced labor and human rights, particularly REGULATION (EU) 2024/3015. The Foundation produces detailed research reports, peer-reviewed academic publications, perpetrator dossiers, press statements, and expert analysis documenting state-imposed forced labor practices in Central Asia and Xinjiang, and their impact on human rights and global supply chains. These materials are shared with various stakeholders, including EU officials, European Parliament committees, Member State embassies, and relevant EU agencies, to inform policy development and implementation.
