Mission & Goals
VICAT est un groupe cimentier international sous contrôle familial, dont le siège est basé en France. Le Groupe Vicat a renforcé ses objectifs 2030 d’émissions et réaffirmé son ambition d’atteindre la neutralité carbone sur la chaîne de valeur de ses produits et services en 2050. Le groupe Vicat emploie plus de 9 900 personnes et a réalisé un chiffre d’affaires consolidé de 3,9 milliards d'euros en 2023, provenant de ses activités de production de Ciment, de Béton & Granulats et Autres Produits & Services. Le Groupe est présent dans 12 pays : France, Suisse, Italie, États-Unis, Turquie, Égypte, Sénégal, Mali, Mauritanie, Kazakhstan, Inde et Brésil. Près de 64% de son chiffre d’affaires est réalisé à l’international. Le groupe Vicat, groupe familial, est l'héritier d'une tradition industrielle débutée en 1817 avec l'invention du ciment artificiel par Louis Vicat. Créé en 1853, le groupe Vicat exerce aujourd’hui 3 métiers principaux que sont le Ciment, le BPE et les Granulats.
EU Legislative Interests
Vicat follows the activities of the EU institutions principally relating to construction and construction-related standards (e.g. EN15804), climate change (e.g. Fit for 55 package and EU ETS), energy (e.g. energy efficiency in Buildings Directive), circular economy (e.g. Waste Framework Directive), environment (incl. waste, biodiversity and industrial emissions), innovations (e.g. Innovation Fund and HorizonEurope) and Sustainable Finance. Vicat specifically follows initiatives under the European Green Deal (e.g. Circular Economy Action Plan, the Renovation Wave, the EU Industrial strategy).
Communication Activities
Vicat actively engages in discussions around sustainable construction. This includes various activities like participation to industry consultations and roundtables organised by the European Commission, participation to events or hearings in the European Parliament, meetings with EU officials or Members of the European Parliament. Vicat is also an active member of the European Cement Association, Cembureau and the association CO2 Value Europe.
